After months of community outreach, two presentations to the community board, a charette with community members to identify racks locations and a walk through with the Transportation Committee, the Bike Share stations are finally appearing at our street corners. All this preparation is paying off: CB4 has received just 5 requests to relocate the stations. DOT has already addressed one of them.
The good news is that the stations are portable and easy to adjust. However it will probably take a while for the DOT to address the issues since currently they are all consumed with the roll out. We can use the time to gain experience of how these installations will interact with the street. The launch is rumored to be on Memorial Day week-end.
