Limo Service for Seniors: Project CART’s Freedom Van

Speaker Christine Quinn shares with us a pilot program running through September 30th, the Project CART’s: Freedom Van, run by the New York Foundation for Senior Citizens (NYFSC). It  allows seniors to make arrangements to use the escort service to travel to appointments or join a shopping group where they will be driven to Pathmark on Mondays and Costco on Wednesdays. The service includes a return trip.

When making reservations, seniors need only to supply their phone numbers, addresses, date of birth and any disabilities or special needs. Pickup must be below West 110th Street 

For Escort service to your appointment, call  212 956 0840 on Tuesdays at least one week in advance . Trips are available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 9:30 a.m to 3 p.m. Click Here for more information.

For shopping trip to Costco and Pathmark, call  212 956 0840 on Tuesdays. Wednesady and Thursday.

  • Trips to Costco at 517 East 177th Street  are available on Wednesdays with pickup starting at 9 a.m. Click Here for more information.
  • Trips to Pathmark at 227 Cherry Street are available on Mondays with pickup starting at 9 a.m. Click Here for more information.
  • You are not required to shop at these stores to take the van.
