Finally! More walking/cycling space on 8th Avenue

Spring fever: DOT is transforming our streets

So many times, we complained that DOT was too slow or not doing enough ..  Let’s give them credit for the projects going on in our neighborhood. These are very exciting times for Hell’s Kitchen and Chelsea even if some projects took a very long time to come to fruition.

11th Avenue being converted to one-way (44/57)

New Bike Lanes and Pedestrian Safety projects underway

 
This is really happening! Split phase signals on 57th Street at both 8th and 10th Avenues. And indeed closing the bike lane gap from 56th Street to Central Park ! Yoo hoo ! DOT is in full swing!

Protected intersections will be standard on 11th Avenue bike lane

DOT commits to pedestrian safety features on 10th Avenue bike lane

We are very grateful that Speaker Corey Johnson office helped DOT and the community reach a compromise for the pedestrian features of the 10th Avenue bike lane from 52nd  to 60th Street  to be installed this fall. At the last Transportation Committee of CB4 , DOT indicated that
