Discount Long Distance Buses: Much More than a Curbside Issue

In May , the DOT will seek Community Board 4′s support to make permanent Megabusinterim permit at 41st Street between 8th and 9th Avenues.  But what started as a quality of life issue, is rapidly evolving into a much serious question: Are these buses safe?

SPEAK UP: 34th Street Transitway- Delivery Problems still Unsolved

Parking swapped for Affordable Housing? Yep…

Chekpeds has a long been on record  advocating for providing affordable housing instead of parking… The city has currently close to 88 millions of sqft of land used for parking lots. This could generate 585,000 affordable apartments.

Speak Up: Proposed Federal Bus legislation falls short of addressing Risks to Communities

More pedestrian space – Less bikes riding on the sidewalk

As bike lanes may be extended to the north , we can expect more bike traffic and more bike parking on the sidewalk . On some blocks the situation is already overwhelming .
