DOT listens to the Community for the Traffic Calming Plan for Upper Clinton and the Upper West side.
Chekpeds members participated in the various break out sessions and raised the folloing issues:
High level of Asthma ( the second highest in Manhattan after Harlem according to the Department of Health) brought upon us by the Concentration of Diesel buses idling in our streets
Lack of bus Garage for Charter buses and commuter Vans
Traffic congestion on 58th Street with the University- hospital- Hotel complex
Pedestrian safety and congestion in the University- Hospital complex area
Truck Diversion at 57th Street.
