What We Did : Over 6 hours time at the 44th street annual fair, 357 pedestrians stopped by the Chekpeds stand and joined in asking that the relevant agencies undertake a complete study of Lincoln Tunnel access routes – in partnership with the community. The focus should be on pedestrian safety and traffic calming on Ninth Avenue to make this corridor the safe and flourishing “Main Street” that it ought to be.
The Results: Copies of the Petition were sent to Mayor Bloomberg, and eight elected officials. Our elected officials are writing letters to the Federal Governement to support such a study.
