Last month, Manhattan Community Board 4 heard from the new neighbors at 10th Avenue between 37th and 38th Streets, who have discovered the inconvenience of being surrounded by New Jersey Transit buses for five hours a day: idling , blocked pedestrian crossing, obstructed bus stops, and near hit of pedestrians while buses make right turns onto Tenth Avenue. The Board just sent a letter to New Jersey Transit , asking them to address these many problems in what has become a residential district . One of the engineering solutions proposed is to have the buses loop around 34th street, 12th Avenue which is a highway and 40th Street. This would avoid seven intersections.
