The NYC Street Memorial Project invites you to walk with us on Sunday, January 4th, 2009, in our 2nd Annual Memorial Walk for pedestrians killed by automobiles on NYC streets. This year’s memorial walk is part of the 4th Annual Memorial Bike Ride and Walk, which will honor all cyclists and pedestrians who have been killed during 2008.

streetmemorial.jpg The Memorial Walk will begin at Bowery and Canal Street in lower Manhattan and visit memorials for three people killed while walking in 2008: Lai Ho, James Dong and Josephine LaPlaca. At Bowery and Delancey Street the walk will converge with Memorial Rides starting in the Bronx, Brooklyn and Queens. Afterwards, an informal gathering of cyclists, pedestrians, families and friends will take place at St. Marks Church.
