In August 2024, as promised, DOT started to install the balance of the 10th Avenue bike lane. It goes from 14th Street to W 38th Street where it connects to a segment that was installed last year.

The lane is in a class by itself, a few notches safer and more comfortable than others in the district and the city. It is wider and there are many concrete pedestrian refuges with space to plant a tree, a traffic calming feature that pleases everyone.

With this installation one can now bike safely from W14th to W110th Street. And at each intersections DOT is installing pedestrian safety features like a speed bump to slow turning cars. This is remarkable.

Thank you to Council Member Erik Bottcher who is fulfilling an election promise to deliver this infrastructure. It took a lot of work but it is really worth it.
