What is the use of a Park if you cannot get to it? This is the plight of many residents who want to enjoy the Hudson River Park but are petrified of crossing the highway: not enough time to cross in particular if you are a senior or crossing with children.
Responding to Martin and Kathleen Treat’s request, the Governors’ office notified them that the New York State DOT will ask NYC DOT to adjust all traffic lights to give additional time to the pedestrian crossings. The Hell’s Kitchen traffic study had also asked for such as well as Community Board 4, but Martin and Kathleen elicited a much better response. Bravo to our members for such political savvy!
