This wednesday a joint meeting of CB4 Land Use Committees will discuss two parking issues that directly impact pedestrian safety in our neighborhoods:
Request By Edison Parking to open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week the parking entrance on 43rd Street between 8th and 9th Avenue, directly across the Holy Cross School entrance. Thsi entrance has been closed until 8 pm to preserve the safety of shcool children.
Amendment to the Parking Zoning in Manhattan Core that would allow residential parking to become public, generating many times more trips on residential streets putting at risks seniors and children. Not to mention increasing the supply of public parking in the city.
