Major safety improvements for Holy Cross schoolchildren at 43rd street

The DOT released its long awaited recommendations for  the most dangerous schools to walk to in New York. Holy Cross being the second most dangerous in Manhattan. A mid block pedestrian crossing and traffic light will be intstalled in front of the school.The principal who had been asking for it for at least 10 years.
Furthermore, we requested and the DOT agreed to install a lead pedestrian interval at the south crossing of 9th avenue at 43rd street and the west crossing of 43rd street at 8th avemue.  DOT will request two crossing guards for these intersections.
