Finally Amtrak and its railroads partners (MTA and NJ Transit) seem to be on the right track (!). Under the supervision and guidance of the the Federal Transit Administration (FTA), the railroads are starting a structured process to filter through six different track configurations in order to emerge one preferred alternative – or maybe two- by the end of 2025. This will lead to an EIS and NEPA process in 2026.
